The Specialization Workshop
Intro
This is pretty new and very, very incomplete but I'd like to get some of this process documented so I can share it.
The Process
The process should go as follows, but this is a living document so this may change from time to time.
First week
The first week should be spent thinking about:
- What have you done a lot of?
- What did you like doing?
- Who were your favorite kinds of customers?
After some brainstorming sessions, you will pick a vertical!
Weeks 2 - 6
The first month will be full of customer interviews where you will talk to your target audience and find their pain points that you may be able to relieve.
At the end of these interviews, you should have a specialization picked out.
Weeks 7 - 20
These weeks will be the time you:
- Set your initial goals
- Start building your sales funnel
- Doing heavy research into your problem solution and how your customers' businesses work
Each 3 months after
You will basically be repeating your last weeks, refining what has worked and kicking out what has failed.
You will also set new goals every quarter with new measurable milestones along the way.
